Yesterday at Build 2015, Microsoft talked about how they will bring iOS apps to the Windows 10 ecosystem and how we will be able to use them. Meet Project Islandwood – which is a “work in progress” Universal Platform bridge for iOS developers to bring their applications into the Windows 10 ecosystem with less effort, time and resources. This project allows them to developer Windows applications using Objective-C

This project features:

  • Import Xcode® projects into Visual Studio
  • Make minimal changes to your iOS®/Objective-C code to build a Windows app
  • Build and debug your Objective-C code from Visual Studio
  • Take advantage of great Windows services
  • Extend your app to take advantage of Universal Windows Platform features

Microsoft states that Project Islandwood is under-development, but the company wants developers to test it and give feedback to improve it over the coming months. If you’re an app developer, you can sign-up for Project Islandwood today – so head over to this link to find out more information on Project Islandwood.
